Port assignment of connection blade 8Gb FC pass thru 18/18
Each of the 18 server blades of a BX900 S2 system unit can be equipped with
2 FC mezzanine cards each with 2 ports (0, 1). Each of the server blade FC
ports is connected to a dedicated port of an FC pass thru connection blade in a
defined connection blade slot. The table below shows the port assignment of
mezzanine card ports and connection blade slots.
Connection blade slot
The FC pass thru port numbers are related to the server blade slot numbers.
Example
The server blade in slot 7 has 2 FC mezzanine cards installed. Connection
blade slots 3, 4, 5 and 6 are fitted with FC pass thru connection blades.
Port 0 of mezzanine card 1 is connected to port 7 of FC pass thru connection
blade in slot 3.
Port 1 of mezzanine card 1 is connected to port 7 of FC pass thru connection
blade in slot 4.
Port 0 of mezzanine card 2 is connected to port 7 of FC pass thru connection
blade in slot 5.
Port 1 of mezzanine card 2 is connected to port 7 of FC pass thru connection
blade in slot 6.

Associated server blade slots
The 18 connection blade ports are divided into 6 groups, color indicated in the
figures above. All the ports within a single group must use the same link protocol
with either 10 Gbit/s or 1 Gbit/s link speed. Default link speed is 10 Gbit/s.
