Power Mirrors
Function Test
1. Remove the driver's pocket (see page 20-60).
2. Reach through the pocket opening, and push out
the power mirror switch (A).

c o n n e c t o r ( B ) f r o m t h e s w i t c h .
4. Choose the appropriate test based on the
symptom:
. Both mirrors don't work, go to step 5.
. Left mirror doesn't work, go to step 7.
. Right mirror doesn't work, go to step 8.
. Defogger doesn't work (Canada), go to step 9.
Both mirrors
5. Check for voltage between the No. 2 terminal and
b o d y g r o u n d w i t h t h e i g n i t l o n s w i t c h O N ( l l ) .
There should be battery voltage.
. lf there is no battery voltage, check for:
- b l o w n N o . 1 4 ( 1 0 A ) f u s e i n t h e u n d e r ' d a s h
fuse/relay box.
- a n o p e n i n t h e B L K r y E L w i r e .
. lf there is battery voltage, goto step 6.
6. Check for continuity between the No. 6 terminal
a n d b o d y g r o u n d .
T h e r e s h o u l d b e c o n t i n u i t y .
. lf there is no continuity, check for:
- a n o p e n i n t h e B L K w i r e .
- p o o r g r o u n d ( G 5 0 1 ) .
. lf there is continuity, check both mirrors
i n d i v i d u a l l y a s d e s c r i b e d i n t h e n e x t c o l u m n .

a n d t h e N o . 5 ( o r N o . 1 2 ) t e r m i n a l t o t h e N o . 6

left), check for an open in the GRN/WHT (or BLU/
Wl-lT)wire between the left mirror and the 13P
conneclor, lf the wire is OK, check the left m irror
actualor.
. lf the mirror neithertilts down nor swings left.

8 . C o n n e c t t h e N o . 2 t e r m i n a l t o t h e N o . 1 1 t e r m i n a l ,
a n d t h e N o . 5 { o r N o . 1 3 ) t e r m i n a l t o t h e N o . 6
t e r m i n a l w i t h j u m p e r w i r e s . T h e r i g h t m i r r o r s h o u l d
tilt down (or swing left)with the ignition switch ON
( ) .
. lf the mirror does not tilt down (or does not swing
left), check for an open in the GRN/WHT (or WHT/
R E D ) w i r e b e t w e e n t h e r i g h t m i r r o r a n d t h e 1 3 P
connector.
lf the wire is OK, check the right mirror actuator.
. l f t h e m i r r o r n e i t h e r t i l t s d o w n n o r s w i n g s l e f t ,
repalr the RED|YEL wire.

Defogger (Canada)
9 . C o n n e c t t h e N o . 1 a n d N o . I t e r m i n a l s w i t h a
jumper wire, and check for voltage between the
N o . 2 t e r m i n a l o f t h e m i r r o r c o n n e c t o r a n d b o d y
ground. There should be battery voltage and both
m i r r o r s s h o u l d w a r m u p w i t h t h e i g n i t i o n s w i t c h
o N t ) .
. l f t h e r e i s n o v o l t a g e o r n e i t h e r w a r m s u p , c h e c k
for:
- a n o p e n i n t h e B L K I / E L o r o R N w i r e .
- b l o w n N o . 1 4 ( ' l 0 A ) f u s e i n t h e u n d e r - d a s h
fuse/relay box.
. l f o n l y o n e f a i l s t o w a r m u p , c h e c k :
- its defogger.
