Configuring T1 (FT1) WAN Interface Cards
Purpose
Enter enable mode. Enter the password.

Enter global configuration mode. You have

Enable routing protocols as required for your
global configuration. This example uses IP
routing, AppleTalk routing, and Internetwork
Packet Exchange (IPX) routing.
Enter the interface configuration mode. You have
entered interface configuration mode when the
prompt changes to
Router(config-if)#.
Assign the IP address and subnet mask to the
interface
Configure routing protocols on the interface. You
must have previously enabled these protocols as
part of global configuration. In this example,
AppleTalk and IPX are being configured on the
interface.
Enter the framing type and linecode type. In this
example, the framing type specified is
(Superframe) and the linecode specified is
If you are using fractional T1 service, enter the
time slot range and speed. In this example, the
time slot range specified is from 1 to 20, and the
speed specified is 64 kbps.
Exit back to global configuration mode.
Repeat Step 4 through Step 8 if your router has
more than one interface that you need to
configure.
When you finish configuring interfaces, return to
enable mode.
