Maintenance, Cleaning and Storage

Before any work on the garden product itself (e. g.
u
maintenance, tool change, etc.) as well as during
transport and storage, remove the battery from
the garden product. There is danger of injury when
unintentionally actuating the On/Off switch.
For safe and proper working, always keep the
u
product clean.
Clean and maintain the product before storage.
To ensure safe and efficient operation, always keep the
product and the ventilation slots clean. Never spray the
product with water.
Never immerse the product in water.
Store the product in a secure, dry place, out of the reach of
children.
Do not place other objects on the product.
Do not leave the product on the ground. Trip hazard!
Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to ensure safe
working with the product.
Inspect the product and replace worn or damaged parts for
safety.
Corrective Measure
Cut in stages
Move the device more slowly
Rewind the line (see figure J) and check the cutter
Clean inside of the protection guard
Feed cutting line using manual feed button (see figure J)
Replace the spool (see figure J)
Remove spool – rethread line (see figure J)
Remove spool – rewind line (see figure J)
Only trim with the tip of the line, avoid touching stones,
walls and other hard objects. Feed the line regularly to
maintain full cutting diameter.
Use recommended cutting line

Check the cutting head and contact dealer in case of
damage
Mount protection guard correctly
Properly insert battery in charger
Clean the battery contacts (e. g. by inserting and remo-
ving the battery several times) or replace the battery
Replace the battery
Insert mains plug (fully) into the socket outlet
Check the mains voltage; have the battery charger
checked by an authorised after-sales service agent for
Honda power tools
Ensure replacement parts fitted are Honda-approved.
The product must not be modified, any modification
made may cause injuries.
Transporting the Lawn Trimmer
Carry the lawn trimmer in one hand, well balanced on
the shaft, with the cutting means pointing to the rear.
Secure the lawn trimmer against tipping over and shif-
ting during transport.
Battery Maintenance
Use the following procedures to enable optimum usage
of the battery:
– Protect the battery against moisture and water.
– Store the machine and battery only within a
temperature range between –20°C and 50°C . As
an example, do not leave the battery in the car in
summer.
– It is recommended that the battery is not stored within
the product but stored separately.
– Do not leave the battery in the product in direct
sunlight.
– The ideal storage condition for the battery is 5°C.
– Occasionally clean the venting slots of the battery
using a soft, clean and dry brush.
