Special Safety Warnings
Keep guards in place. Guards must be in working
u
order and be properly mounted. A guard that is
loose, damaged or is not functioning correctly may
result in personal injury.
Never allow children, persons with physical, sensory
u
or mental limitations or a lack of experience and/
or knowledge and/or people unfamiliar with these
instructions to use the machine. Local regulations may
restrict the age of the operator.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do
u
not play with the machine.
Do not operate the product with the cutting line in
u
close proximity to any electrical cable.
Check the product for damage if it hits a hard object or
u
in case of excessive vibration.
When shortening the cutting line, take care not to cut
u
yourself.
When switching off the product, always make sure that
u
the motor and cutting head have come to a complete
standstill.
Cut high and dense grass in stages to achieve uniform
u
cutting results. (see figure M)
When inserting the battery, keep the cutter clear of your
u
body and other objects, including the ground. It may
rotate when starting and may cause injury or damage to
the tool and/or property.
Do not over-reach and keep your balance at all times.
u
Always be sure of your footing on slopes. Walk,
never run.
In case of prolonged use, we recommend taking
u
appropriate breaks.
Prolonged use of the product (or other machines)
u
exposing the operator to vibrations may produce
white finger disease (Raynaud's phenomenon) or
carpal tunnel syndrome.
These conditions reduce the hand's ability to feel
u
and regulate temperature, can lead to numbness
and burning sensations and may cause nerve and
circulation damage and tissue necrosis.
Contact your doctor if you experience symptoms of
u
overexposure to vibration. These symptoms include
numbness, loss of feeling, tingling, pricking, pain,
loss of strength, changes in skin colour or condition.
These symptoms normally appear in the fingers,
hands or wrists.
Recommendations for Optimal Handling of
the Battery Pack
Do not open the battery. There is a risk of short-
u
circuiting.
Protect the battery against heat (e.g.,
against continuous intense sunlight), fire,
water and moisture. There is a risk of
explosion.
In case of damage and improper use of the battery
u
pack, vapours may be emitted. Ventilate the area
and seek medical help in case of complaints. The
vapours can irritate the respiratory system.
Only use the battery with products from the
u
manufacturer. This is the only way in which you can
protect the battery against dangerous overload.
The battery can be damaged by pointed objects
u
such as nails or screwdrivers or by force applied
externally.
An internal short circuit may occur, causing the
u
battery to burn, smoke, explode or overheat.
Do not short-circuit the battery. There is a risk of
u
explosion.
Occasionally clean the venting slots of the battery
u
using a soft, clean and dry brush.
Charge the machine only with the supplied battery
