Chapter 9
9.10.6
Selecting Cooling Fan Operation
How to always keep running the inverter cooling fan?
Q
How to operate the cooling fan only when the inverter is running?
How to stop the noise from the cooling fan when the inverter is stopped?
How to operate the cooling fan only when heat is generated from the inverter?
Any of the following cooling fan operations can be selected by setting "Cooling fan control
A
method selection [b092]".
- Always operate the cooling fan.
- The cooling fan operates only when the inverter is running.
- The cooling fan operates when the cooling fin temperature reaches approximately 40°C or
higher.
When an instantaneous power failure or power interruption occurs when the cooling fan is
!
running, the cooling fan temporarily stops and automatically resume operation after power is
restored.
For details on life assessment of the cooling fan, "Cooling-fan life warning [WAF]" output signal,
and cumulated cooling fan operating hours, refer to "9.11.8 Outputting a Warning for Cooling
Fan Life", "10.3.3 Monitor the Results of Lifetime Diagnosis", and "16.2.6 Life Warning Output".

Item
Always operates
Operates when the inverter is in operation:
When the inverter is in operation, the cooling fan operates
automatically. It also operates for 3 minutes after the
inverter operation is stopped.
However, when the cooling fin temperature is still above
50°C after 3 minutes have passed, the cooling fan
continues to operate until the temperature drops below
50°C and stops after another 3 minutes.
* Even when the operation is stopped, the cooling fan starts
operating if the cooling fin temperature exceeds 60°C.
Cooling fin temperature-dependent:
The cooling fan operates when the inverter cooling fin
temperature exceeds approximately 40°C.
The cooling fan stops when the cooling fin temperature
remains equal to or below 40°C for 3 minutes.
