Installation Instructions
WATER SUPPLY CONNECTIONS
Refer to the illustration below for recommended installation. The HOT and COLD water connections are
clearly marked by red (HOT) and blue (COLD) covers. Both connections are 1/2" male NPT on all models.
When connecting to the inlet/outlet ports, the use of 1/2" female NPT tapered thread fittings with use of thread
sealant is recommended.
NOTE: It is recommended to install this water heater with a bypass configuration for an easy winterizing
process of the the RV.
IMPORTANT: Do not apply heat to the HOT or COLD water connections. If sweat connections are used,
sweat tubing to adapter before fitting the adapter to the cold water connections on heater. Any heat
applied to the hot or cold water connection will permanently damage these ports.
Typical installation can be found in the diagram below.
Installing the Water Connections
1. Remove the red cover from the 1/2" NPT hot water connection.
2. Apply thread tape or sealant to the 1/2" NPT port on the water heater and then connect the water line
directly to this port using the correct female 1/2" NPT fitting.
3. Remove the blue cover from the 1/2" NPT cold water connection.
4. Apply thread tape or sealant to the 1/2" NPT port on the water heater and then connect the water line
directly to this port using the correct female 1/2" NPT fitting.
Bypass Plumbing Configuration
It is recommended to install this water heater with a bypass configuration for an easy winterizing process of the
RV. Typical bypass configuration can be found below:
Hot water connection
Cold water connection
Three way bypass valve
Bypass water line
Three way bypass valve
