Operating Instructions

This water heater is designed for use in Recreational Vehicle applications.
Use only with liquid propane (LP) gas only.
Do not store or use gasoline or any other flammable vapors and liquids in close proximity of this appliance.
This water heater must be shut off during refueling of the RV or when the vehicle is in motion.
Gas Only Heating
The gas heating switch is indicated by a flame icon on the control switch. When turning this switch to the
"ON" position, the water heater will make three ignition attempts. When successful ignition has been
achieved, the indicator light will illuminate. If the gas system fails to ignite after three attempts, the indicator
light will blink. The gas control ignition sequence can be reset by turning the switch to the "OFF" position
then back to the "ON" position. If there are repeated sequences of failed ignition, there could be an issue
with you water heater requiring service.
Electric Only Heating
The electric heating switch is indicated by a lightening icon on the control switch. When turning this switch
to the "ON" position, the electric heating element relay will close and allow 120 VAC power to the heating
element.
Combined Gas and Electric Heating
For fastest hot water recovery, this water heater can run gas and electric heating modes simultaneously.
To engage both gas and electric heating, simply turn "ON" both the gas switch and the electric switch on
the control panel. The logic described in each above individual heating modes will apply in the combined
heating mode.
Extended Shutdown Periods
If the water heater is to remain idle for an extended period of time, the power and water to the appliance
should be turned off and the water heater drained to conserve energy and prevent a buildup of
dangerous hydrogen gas. This unit has no power button, power can only be shut off at the circuit breaker
or disconnect switch.
The water heater and piping should be drained if they might be subjected to freezing temperatures.
After a long shutdown period, the water heater's operation and controls should be checked by qualified
service personnel. Make certain the water heater is completely filled again before placing it in operation.
