This section describes how to prepare the Cisco Nexus 5548P, the Cisco Nexus 5020, and the Cisco
Nexus 5010 switches for installation. This section includes the following topics:

The Cisco Nexus 5548P switch or the Cisco 5000 Series switch can be installed using the following
methods:

Airflow Considerations

Airflow through the Cisco Nexus 5548P switch or the Cisc Nexus 5000 Series switch is from front to
back. Air enters the chassis through the fan trays and power supplies mounted at the front of the chassis
and exits the chassis through perforations on the rear of the chassis. To ensure proper airflow, follow
these guidelines:

When evaluating airflow requirements, take into consideration that hot air generated by equipment
at the bottom of the rack can be drawn in the intake ports of the equipment above.
