Step 1. Inside the box you will find two separate boxes. The larger of the two contains
the grinder and the PortaHolder (if applicable). The other contains the hopper,
lid, grounds bin, burr removal tool, and calibration tool.

IMPORTANT! For grinders with scales, the weight platform (scale) is fragile,
and can be damaged by excess weight or force. Be gentle. Do NOT press down
on it.

Note that these are just starting points; you will need to dial in the grind to your prefer-
ence. For additional information on grind settings and brewing methods go to the sup-

To operate the grinder, do the following:

◊ For the Vario-W, press the Tare button, chose a preset number and press
Start.
◊ For the Forté press Weight, then press Tare, choose a preset number, and
press Start or, when grinding by time, chose a preset number and press
Start.
To set a programmable Time/Weight button (1,2,3), use up/down arrows to

adjust to preferred time/weight, then press and hold desired button until the
display flashes. You have now stored the new time/weight.
