Connecting Serial Port on Cisco AS5400 to CSU/DSU

• Use a coaxial cable to connect a timing signal generator (TSG) to the BITS port. The BITS port is used for external clocking.

• Use a copper wire cable to connect to the alarm port.
Warning The plug-socket combination must be accessible at all times because it serves as the main disconnecting device.
