ASSEMBLY
CAUTION:
Always be sure that the tool is
switched off and the battery cartridge is removed
before carrying out any work on the tool.
CAUTION:
Do not touch the saw chain with
bare hands. Always wear gloves when handling
the saw chain.
Installing or removing saw chain
CAUTION:
The saw chain and the guide bar
are still hot just after the operation. Let them cool
down enough before carrying out any work on
the tool.
CAUTION:
Carry out the procedure of install-
ing or removing saw chain in a clean place free
from sawdust and the like.
Installing the saw chain
T o i n s t a l l t h e s a w c h a i n , p e r f o r m

R e l e a s e t h e c h a i n b r a k e b y p u l l i n g t h e f r o n t h a n d
g u a r d .
2.
Loosen the chain adjusting screw, then the retain-
i n g n u t .

tension by referring to the section for adjusting saw
c h a i n t e n s i o n .

Removing the saw chain

Adjusting saw chain tension

CAUTION:
Do not tighten the saw chain too
much. E x c e s s i v e l y h i g h t e n s i o n o f s a w c h a i n m a y
c a u s e b r e a k a g e o f s a w c h a i n a n d w e a r o f t h e g u i d e
b a r .
CAUTION:
A chain which is too loose can
jump off the bar and it may cause an injury
accident.

Lift up the guide bar tip slightly and adjust the
chain tension. Turn the chain adjusting screw clockwise
t o t i g h t e n , t u r n i t c o u n t e r c l o c k w i s e t o l o o s e n .
For chain blade 90PX and 91PX:
T i g h t e n t h e s a w c h a i n u n t i l t h e l o w e r s i d e o f t h e s a w
chain fits in the guide bar rail as illustrated.

For chain blade 25AP:
T i g h t e n t h e s a w c h a i n s o t h a t t h e g a p b e t w e e n t h e c e n -

b e c o m e s a p p r o x i m a t e l y 1 m m

For chain blade 90PX and 91PX:
M a k e s u r e t h a t t h e s a w c h a i n d o e s n o t l o o s e a t t h e
l o w e r s i d e .
For chain blade 25AP:
M a k e s u r e t h a t t h e g a p b e t w e e n t h e c e n t e r o f t h e l o w e r
