9. Set each item as follows, and then click [Next].
Protocol type: UDP
Local port: Specific Ports
Port Number: 5353
Remote port: Specific Ports
Port Number: 5353
10. Select [Any IP address] for both local IP
address and remote IP address, and then click
[Next].
11. Select [Allow the connection], and then click
[Next].
12. Specify when the rule is applied, and then click
[Next].
13. Enter a name, and then click [Finish].
When connecting via wired LAN (DR-S150 only):
(1) Check the LAN cable connection.
(2) The specified IP address may already be in use by
another device. Contact your network's system
administrator to change the IP address.
(3) The specified device name may already be in use
by another device. Contact your network's system
administrator to change the device name. Be
careful not to duplicate the device name when
more than one scanner is installed.
(4) Check the status of network traffic. When a heavy
load is placed on the network, processing takes
time and timeouts may occur. Wait for awhile and
then reconnect. If the situation does not improve
please contact your network administrator.
(5) Wired LAN connections are not recognized when
connected via USB or when connected via Wi-Fi.
Operate the touch panel to switch the connection
method.

When connecting via Wi-Fi:
(1) Confirm that the access point is operating correctly.
(2) Turn both this scanner and the access point off and
back on, and attempt the Wi-Fi connection again.
(3) The scanner may be positioned too far from the
access point. Connection is not possible if the
distance is too far.
(4) There may be a wall or furniture between the
access point and the scanner that is blocking the
connection. Reposition the devices or move them
closer together.
(5) Cordless phones, microwave ovens and radio
signals from other appliances can interfere with Wi-
Fi signals. Keep Wi-Fi devices away from such
appliances.
(6) When an access point's stealth function is enabled,
it cannot be detected during Wi-Fi setup. Disable
the stealth function or use manual setup to enter
the correct SSID of the access point.
(7) When the access point's MAC filtering function is
enabled, the MAC address of this scanner must be
registered.
(8) Wi-Fi connections are not recognized when
connected via wired LAN (DR-S150 only) or when
connected via USB. Operate the touch panel to
switch the connection method.
Problem 4
The scanner turned off automatically.
Solutions
When the scanner's auto power off function is enabled,
the scanner's power is automatically turned off after 4
hours, regardless of whether a connection is active.
Turn the scanner back on, and as necessary, disable
the Auto Power Off.
Problem 5
I want to reset to the factory default settings.
