Motor Temperature Monitoring
CAUTION
Temperature sensor motor protec‐
and Controls
Failure in the machine or damage by improper use of the sensors!
●
The PTC-sensors are no safety arrangement and are not suited for the
integration in safety systems to protect persons or machines.
●
The PTC-sensors are neither structured for acquisition of housing, rotor
or bearing-temperature nor therefore suited. Additional requirements on
the temperature control have to be realized by the machine manufacturer.
●
To ensure a safe motor protection against thermal overload, the temper‐
ature sensor for motor protection SNM150.DK must be connected on the
drive controller.
Stators of synchronous-torque motors type IndraDyn T are standardized with
integrated temperature sensors to protect the motor. Every motor phase con‐
tains of one out of three switched in a row ceramic PTC´s, so that a sure
thermical control of the motor in every operation phase is possible. These ther‐
mistors (furthermore: thermistor motor protection)have a switching character
(fig. 9-8 "Characteristik of temperature sensors motor protection (PTC)" on
page
206) and become evaluated on all Rexroth control devices.
Furthermore all stators are fitted with an additional thermistor for temperature
measurement. These sensors (furthermore: sensor temperature measure‐
ment) has nearly a linear characteristic curve
