Removing a Half-Height NLC
To remove a half-height NLC from the Cisco 6400 chassis:
Attach an ESD-preventive strap between you and the chassis surface.
Step 1
Remove any connections to the modules. Be sure to cover any fiber-optic connections to prevent

contamination from moisture or dirt.
Loosen the two (top and bottom) cross-slotted screws securing the NLC metal carrier to the full-height
Step 3
carrier.
Grasp the two lever handles on the NLC, and gently pull the handles away from the carrier unit to
Step 4
loosen the unit.
Carefully slide the NLC out of the full-height carrier. Avoid damaging the connectors on the rear of the
Step 5
plug-in unit.
Place the NLC on an antistatic surface.
