Spot Optic Assembly Replacement

Repair/Replacement Procedure
To remove spot optics assembly:
Step 1. Disconnect luminaire AC input cable from power source.
Step 2. Remove both top and bottom head covers by loosening four quarter-turn captive locking
screws.
Step 3. Disconnect wiring for transfer fan and color/gobo fans as well as head cable from zoom
interconnect PCB.
Step 4. Remove Gobo Assembly.
Step 5. Remove one 8-32 Hex Nut from Actuator shaft.
CAUTION: Lens will move freely. Be careful not to drop or damage lens.
Step 6. Loosen 8 captive 6-32 screws from the four mounting clamps (two per clamp).
Step 7. Free Actuator shaft from casting.
Step 8. Remove guide rods from bearings.
Step 9. Carefully pull Optics Assembly from fixture.
To re-install spot optics assembly:
Step 10. Thread Actuator shaft into motor until hex head of shaft touches motor.
Step 11. Insert guide rods into bearings.
Step 12. Carefully place optics assembly back into fixture.
Step 13. Align guide rods to be flush with lamp side bracket.
Step 14. Install but DO NOT tighten four mounting clamps. Check alignment of guide rods by
sliding optics assembly back and forth. Ensure assembly does not bind.
Step 15. Tighten the actuator motor side clamps FIRST. Then tighten opposite side.
Step 16. Check that optics assembly moves freely. If it binds, loosen the mounting clamps and reset
guides. Repeat until lens moves freely.
Step 17. Install 8-32 Hex nut on actuator shaft. Tighten just enough to keep from spinning.
Step 18. Manually run optics assembly back and forth to center actuator arm into casting. Then
tighten nut.
