15. Reconnect the active noise control front and rear
m i c r o p h o n e connectors.
16. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
17. Check for voltage between body g r o u n d and the
active noise control f r o n t or rear m i c r o p h o n e 4P or
5P harness connector No. 1 and No. 2 (front) or
No. 3 and No. 4 (rear) t e r m i n a l s individually ,while
lightly tapping on the m i c r o p h o n e s .

19. Disconnect the active noise control unit 16P
connector.
20. Disconnect the active noise control f r o n t
m i c r o p h o n e 5P connector.
21. Check continuity between the active noise control
unit 16P connector No. 3 t e r m i n a l and the active
noise control f r o n t m i c r o p h o n e 5P harness
connector No. 1 t e r m i n a l .

YES — G o t o step 22.
NO—Repair an open in the w i r e between the active
noise control unit 16P connector No. 3 t e r m i n a l and
the active noise control f r o n t m i c r o p h o n e 5P
connector No. 1 t e r m i n a l . •

Does the voltage change when the microphone is
tapped?
Y E S — G o t o step 18.
NO—Replace the active noise control front or rear
m i c r o p h o n e (see page 23-77). •
18. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
