Recycling procedures

Introduction
This section describes the procedures for disposal and recycling of ÄKTA start.
Decommissioning of the
equipment
ÄKTA start must be decontaminated before decommissioning. Follow local regulations
for scrapping of the equipment.
Disposal, general instructions
When taking ÄKTA start out of service, the different materials must be separated and
recycled according to national and local environmental regulations.
Recycling of hazardous
substances
ÄKTA start contains hazardous substances. Detailed information is available from your
GE representative.
Disposal of electrical
components
Waste comprising electrical and electronic equipment must not be disposed of as un-
sorted municipal waste and must be collected separately. Please contact an authorized
representative of the manufacturer for information concerning the decommissioning of
equipment.
