CD-ROM or DVD drive is
not properly connected.
Cable or cables are bad.
Driver is not loaded.

Hard drive failed.
Drive is not supported.
A SCSI cable failed.
Hard drive connection
problem occurred.

Possible Solution
Refer to the documentation included with
the drive. Connect cables correctly.
Check the connections and drive
documentation. Replace cables as
needed.
Install the correct driver.
Possible Solution
Replace the hard drive.
Replace with a hard drive supported by
both the server and the operating
system.
Check the pins on both ends of all SCSI
cables in the configuration. The pins and
cables could be bent or otherwise
damaged.
Check the LEDs on the hard drive. Refer
to your server-specific user
documentation for information on hard
drive LEDs.
Try removing and replacing the hard
drive. If you remove any hard drives,
label the drive and its position, and make
sure that you install it in its original
position.
