Hobs - Use
Choice of suKable pans

pans will help you obtain the best
cooking result most economicaiy. and
generaly avoid food boiing over and
sticking,
• Pan bases
For maximum economy of electricty
when cooking or frying, only use parts
with a flat or very sSghlly concave
base. When hot the pan writ rest
evenly on the hob. Modern sauce¬
pans for electric cookers are the most
suitable and effioent lor use on
ceramic cooking areas or soM hot¬
plates.
• Size of pan
The diameter of Ihe saucepan or trying
pan should be very sightly larger than
that o1 the hotptete
l
coc^hg area.
• Pan lids
Cooking wHh the lid on the pan retains
the heat.
Notes on use of the hobs
• With ceramic hobsarxJ enclosed
hotplates
Before switching on, place a saucepan
containing water or food to be cooked
on Ihe holptate or cookir^g area. This
prevents unr^ecessary use of energy
or the hotplates warping or burning
themselves out
Before you start cooking, make sure
that Ihe hotpiales or co^ng areas
and the base of the saucepan are
dev and <*y. TNs saves extra clean-
hg later on On m account should
sand or grt remain on the surface of
the ceramic hob. This would scratch
the hob surface when a pan was
pushed across.
