7.2 Setting up the Talker and Listener Areas

The FL654's talker and listener areas are provided in Area 1 or Area 2 of the FL-net cyclic
transmission common memory. Setup of the talker and listener areas is achieved using the
talker block head/listener block head setting switches at the lower left side face of the
module.
(1) Dividing the common memory area into blocks

To simplify the FL654 switch settings, the head addresses of the talker and listener
areas are set as follows:
(a) For common memory Area 1
The head addresses are set using block numbers of blocks divided in 2
words.
(b) For common memory Area 2
The head addresses are set using block numbers of blocks divided in 32
words.
