Function Setup

Just as in film projection there are a number of issues
related to the configuration of the Digital Cinema projector
for the venue and/or the content being presented. One
easily called to mind in film is the aperture plate which is
selected based on the image format. Because the Digital
Cinema system can present content of varying formats the
settings are much more complex. The majority of these
must be set using the SRX Controller
stored in FUNCTIONs (F1 through F20). However, some
settings may require adjustment of a more immediate
nature. These are available to you on the FUNCTION
SET-UP screen.
A limited number of
adjustments are available
on the FUNCTION
SETUP pane. To access
the Function Setup pane,
tap Menu and then tap
Function Setup. The
FUNCTION SET-UP
pane appears.
From the FUNCTION
SET-UP pane you adjust
selected functions and
save the changed values
to the CURRENT
FUNCTION.
Note: Select the
CURRENT FUNCTION
refer to "Change
Projector Function" on page 33.
Caution: Any changes made to adjustments on the
FUNCTION SET-UP pane and the Saved to the
FUNCTION will be reflected in the settings returned the
next time the indicated FUNCTION is selected on the
Projector Control panel or recalled as part of a SPL where
the function was associated with a specific CPL.
MAKE SURE THAT THE CORRECT FUNCTION,
e.g., F2 WB-6500, APPEARS IN "CURRENT
FUNCTION" BEFORE MAKING ANY ADJUSTMENT
ON THIS SCREEN.
Note: Adjustments will immediately effect the projector
operation. However, until these adjustments are saved to
the CURRENT FUNCTION they are temporary and will
be lost when another FUNCTION is selected.
1.The SRX Controller exercises direct control over
the projector and therefore should not be used at the
same time the Projectionist Terminal or SMS Control-
ler is in operation.

Once changes are saved to the CURRENT FUNCTION
THERE IS NO "UNDO" and the changes you have made
will effect the presentation every time the indicated
FUNCTION is recalled using either the Projector control
screen or when the FUNCTION is associated with a CPL
as part of a Show or SPL.
From the FUNCTION SET-UP screen you can set the
LAMP POWER and adjust image related settings
(ADJUST PROJECTOR). The settings are stored for later
recall using the indicated FUNCTION Key (CURRENT
FUNCTION).

Verify "Target" Function

To change the CURRENT FUNCTION refer to "Change
Projector Function" on page 33. The CURRENT
FUNCTION indicates the FUNCTION selected either
manually or by CPL to FUNCTION association.
Save to FUNCTION
Note: It may take some seconds for the process of
completing the process as some adjustments are
mechanical in nature, e.g., Zoom, Focus, etc. During this
time the auditorium screen may be dark.
If you make changes to settings and prior to saving the
changes exit the FUNCTION SET-UP screen the changes
will be discarded. However, the changed settings on the
projector remain until a new FUCNTION is selected.

Adjust Lamp Power

Screen Luminance vs. Lamp Power
The SRX-R220 based system includes a feature that
manages the screen luminance by directly measuring the
brightness of the bulb using a photocell. During the system
installation the Lamp Luminance is calibrated by stepping
the Lamp Power from minimum to maximum, measuring
the bulb brightness vs. the Lamp Power, and then storing
this data in a table in the projector. A luminance value
(bulb brightness) stored in a FUNCTION is compared to
the measured values and then, using the table, the Lamp
Power is adjusted to achieve the value saved in the
Current Function
