2.1 Loadable compile cycles 840D/840D sl
General
Compile cycles are functional expansions of the NCK system software that can be created
by the machine manufacturer and/or by Siemens and then imported in the control later.
As part of the open NCK system architecture, compile cycles have comprehensive access to
data and functions of the NCK system level via defined software interfaces. In this way,
compile cycles significantly extend the functionality of the NCK.
Including a compile cycle in the NCK system software is performed by loading the compile
cycle into the file system of the NCK. The compile cycle can be loaded at any time.
Siemens compile cycles
The following technological functions and more are available from Siemens in the form of
compile cycles:
• 1D/3D clearance control in position controller cycle
• Continue Machining at the Contour (Retrace Support)
• Fast Laser Switching Signal
