Removing the propeller shaft
housing assembly
1. Remove the bolts 1, ring 2, and bolts

2. Pull out the propeller shaft housing
assembly.

Disassembling the propeller shaft
housing
1. Remove the spring 1, and then remove
the cross pin 2, dog clutch 3, slider shift
plunger, and shift rod joint.

2. Remove the forward gear and forward
gear shim(s) from the propeller shaft
housing using a press.
Bearing splitter plate 4:
(commercially obtainable)
3. Install the propeller shaft assembly in the
reverse direction into the lower case.
4. Remove the ring nut 5 and claw washer

Ring nut wrench 7: YB-06578
5. Remove the bearing outer race 8, taper
roller bearing 9, thrust bearing 0, and
propeller shaft shim(s) A using a press.
