Expansion Functions
The following optional products can be additionally installed or used with expansion functions in the ETER-
NUS DX:
Drives
•
Drive enclosures
•
• Host interfaces
Model Upgrade
•
Unified kit (license)
•
Long wave SFP+ modules
•
This chapter explains the handling instructions and installation procedures for these optional products.
Drives and drive enclosures can be added by users. Users can also replace Long wave SFP+ modules. For ex-
pansion functions of the optional products other than those described above, contact your maintenance en-
gineer.
Make sure to read "Safety Precautions" before performing any of these procedures.
5.1

Installing Additional Drives

Drives can be installed while the ETERNUS DX is running without affecting the system.
This section explains how to install drives in the ETERNUS DX.
5.1.1

Installable Drives

For installable drives, refer to "Product List".

Do not uninstall or move a drive that is already installed.

Contact your sales representative or maintenance engineer if drives that are instal-
led by default need to be uninstalled or moved to another slot.
