Backup Devices

The Backup Devices section shows the devices detected by the NAS 8000. It may
be necessary to restart the NAS 8000 for proper detection of devices. Stopping
and starting the NDMP services may be sufficient for detecting fibre channel
connected devices.

Configuring Legato NetWorker for use with NDMP

Legato NetWorker 6.2. Use each of these with Version 3 of NDMP.
When Using a Stand-Alone Tape Device
If using a stand-alone tape device, see the NetWorker installation guide for
instructions on how to set up NDMP for NetWorker, how to perform backups, and
how to perform restores.

When Using a Tape Changer
1. Install NetWorker as described in the NetWorker software documentation.
2. From the command line on the NetWorker server, run jbconfig.
3. From the jbconfig menu, select option 3 to Install an Auto detected NDMP
4. Enter the NAS server host name for NDMP server name.
5. Enter root as the user, then enter a password.
