3. If the transmission (HST) oil level is below the min-
imum level mark, refill the recommended oil up to
the specified level (See page 5-7).
Recommended transmission (HST) oil:
Diesel engine oil
SAE 10W-30, Class CD or higher

Checking the auger

Check the auger for bending or deformation or the exis-
tence of any foreign objects.
1. Auger

Checking the handlebar for looseness or play

Hold the handlebar and check it for any looseness or
play by moving it left and right.
If any looseness or play is found, consult a Yamaha
dealer.

Checking the starter motor operation

Turn the engine switch key to the "START
and make sure that the starter motor cranks the engine
normally.
Checking the engine for poor starting or
abnormal noise
Make sure that the engine starts immediately, and that
it cranks the engine smoothly. Also, check that no
abnormal noises are coming from the engine.

Checking the exhaust system

After starting the engine, check the exhaust system for
any abnormalities.
