Battery-Indicator Light
If you turn the ignition key to the O
few seconds, the battery voltage displays in the area
where the hours are normally displayed.
The battery light turns on when the ignition is turned
on and when the charge is below the correct operating
level
(Figure

Safety-Interlock Indicators
There are symbols on the hour meter, and the indicate
with a black triangle that the interlock component is in
the correct position

Fuel-Shutoff Valve
Close the fuel-shutoff valve (under the hopper) when
transporting or storing the mower.
Engine-Oil-Temperature Light and
Buzzer
The engine-oil-temperature light monitors the
temperature of the engine oil. An illuminated
engine-oil-temperature light and intermittent buzzing
sound signals the engine is overheating.

Electronic-Control-Unit
Malfunction-Indicator Light
The electronic-control unit (ECU) continuously
monitors the operation of the EFI system.
If the system detects a problem or fault, the
malfunction-indicator light (MIL) illuminates.
The MIL is located in the right console panel.
If the MIL illuminates, perform the initial
troubleshooting checks; refer to the MIL section in
Troubleshooting (page
g020563
If these checks do not correct the problem, further
diagnosis and servicing by an Authorized Service
Dealer is necessary.
