Editing the CF Card Data By Yourself

The Audio System adm inistrator should refer to inform ation below w hen editing (authoring) the CF card data.
CF Card Format
• The CF card is in DOS form at.
(When the CF card is purchased it is already in DOS
form at. Do not alter the version, cluster size, or
m ake any other physical form at change.)
Long file nam es are incom patible and therefore
cannot be used.
• Store the m essage file in the sub directory
" 01??????" of the root directory.
In the " 01" section, a num ber can be set from 01 -
09.
(The default setting is 01.)
For m ore inform ation on editing m ethods for
playback that is initiated from the sub directory,
refer to M essage Group Select Functions on this
page.
The area occupied by " ??..." can be used after
assigning a desired value.
Naming a M essage File
Nam e a file according to the follow ing instructions.
Point reception file
P001????. WAV
• The " P" prefix indicates the m essage w ill be played
back through the point reception m ethod. The Auto
reception m ethod is indicated w ith " A."
• The 2nd to 4th digits can be used to indicate an
address num ber from 000 - 999.
How ever, Point or autom atic playback that is
initiated from the reception of encoded infrared
signals, can only be assigned to the address
num bers 000 - 255.
The address num bers from 256 - 999 can only be
used for playback that is initiated through key entry.
For these num bers, " P" should be assigned as the
prefix.
• Do not assign the sam e address num ber for Point
reception and Auto reception m essages.
• The 5th to 8th digits can be used after assigning a
desired value. The file extension should alw ays be
designated as " WAV."

• M ake sure to use only the CF card recom m ended by
JVC.

File That Displays the CF Card
Version
Through placing a file that displays the CF card
version in the root directory, after turning on the
pow er, the CF card version w ill be displayed. This w ill
appear after the display that indicates the rem aining
am ount of battery pow er. This function m akes it
possible to distinguish betw een the contents of one
CF card and another. When a file that displays the CF
card is not present, the version num ber is not
displayed.
• File name
The file nam e for the file that displays the version
should be " VER.TXT."
• File format
The follow ing explains the form at for the file that
displays the card version.
• Write a file prefix that indicates a version num ber
from 00 - 99.
• Display format
The CF card version w ill appear in the display
w indow as " C01." The num ber " 01" w ill change
according to the version num ber w ritten in the file
that displays the card version.
M essage Group Select Function
It is possible for the visitor to select from a variety of
m essages that can be played back. This is
accom plished because a num ber of sub directories
can be created and in each sub directory different
languages or additional m essage files can be stored.
• Sub directory names
There are 9 different types of subdirectories from
" 01??????" to " 09??????."
The area occupied by " ?" can be used after
assigning a desired value.
(The default setting is " 01??????." )
• Selection method for the message group (language)
A sub directory can be selected by turning the
POWER ON w hile pressing one of the 10 num erical
keys 1-9. If POWER is turned ON w ithout pressing
any of the 10 num erical keys, " 01??????" is
selected.
• Checking the message group (language)
Check w ith the earphones w hether or not the
playback correctly corresponds to the selected
m essage group.
