M ethods for Providing Information to Visitors
Points to remember w hen the visitor
receives the Portable ROM Player
• Turn the POWER to ON and confirm the follow ing
points w hen handing the Portable ROM Player to
the visitor.

Check the rem aining battery pow er.
• The visitor should receive the unit w hen
(If there is less pow er than indicated above, " No
Battery Pow er" m ay occur during the exhibit.)

Check the CF card.
• Confirm that the CF card is w hat the visitor
requested and that the card has been inserted.
Also check the card version in the display
w indow.

Check the earphone.
• Confirm that sound is properly produced from
the earphone.

• It is recom m ended that earphones are replaced
regularly. Especially after extended periods of
use, the w ire at the base of the plug often
becom es cut. Therefore m ake sure that the
earphones are properly w orking.
• Earphones should alw ays be cleaned and
replaced regularly in order to m aintain public
standards of personal hygiene.
• When a child is using the Portable ROM Player, to
prevent accidents, replace the neck strap w ith the
hand strap.

returns the Portable ROM Player
• Confirm the follow ing points w hen the visitor has
finished view ing the exhibit and returns the
Portable ROM Player.

is said to the visitor w hen the
Portable ROM Player is returned;
" Thank you very much for visiting our
exhibit today. Were there any difficulties
w ith the Portable ROM Player?"
• In the event that the visitor did have som e
problem s, leave the CF card inserted, hand the
Player to the Audio Guidance System
adm inistrator, and explain the problem .
Exam ple: The visitor w as not able to hear the
explanation for exhibit num ber XX in
exhibit hall num ber XX .

Check that the CF card is still inserted.
• In the event that the card is m issing, im m ediately
request that the visitor return the card.

Turn POWER to OFF.
• This w ill extend the life of the batteries.
It is recom m ended that the batteries are returned
to the recharger for recharging.
