VIDEO HEAD CLOGGING
T he vide o he a ds a re the m ea ns by which the T V /V C R rea ds the picture from the tape during playback. In the unlikely
eve nt tha t the he a ds be com e dirty enough to be clogged, no picture will be played back. T his can e asily be deter-
m ined if, during playback of a known good ta pe, there is good sound, but no picture (picture is extrem ely snowy). If
this is the ca se, have the T V /V C R che cke d by qualified service personnel.

preve nt dirt from a ccumula ting on the he a ds. H owever, m anual head cleaning is nee ded if the picture on playback is
still uncle a r a lthough the picture on progra m is norm al. T his failure signifies that the head is getting dirty a nd occurs
when playing poor quality or dam a ge d ta pe s. If the heads require cleaning, use a high quality head cleaning system
or ha ve the m cle aned profe ssiona lly.

Auto Clock Setting
N ote s for C a na dia n custom e rs re ga rding the clock feature of the T V-13142 and T V-13142W :
T he X D S signa ls a re carrie d only by ce rtain broadcast television stations (for exam ple, the signal is carried by m ost
P ublic Broa dca sting S e rvice sta tions). You must be able to receive a station carrying the X D S signal to use the Auto
C lock S e tting to set your T V /V C R 's inte rna l clock. If you live in an area that does not broadcast X D S signals, you
m ust se t the clock m anually. P le a se se e pa ge 1 6 for instructions on how to m a nually se t your T V /V C R 's clock.
Special note for residents of Newfoundland:
T he Auto C lock S e tting ca nnot be used to se t the T V /V C R 's inte rnal clock to N ewfoundland tim e. T he tim e zone
com m a nd doe s not include a setting for the N ewfoundland tim e zone. Trying to use the Auto C lock S etting in the
N ewfoundla nd tim e zone could re sult in a n incorrect tim e setting or no setting at all. P lease set your T V /V C R 's clock
using the M anual C lock S e tting.
