A hardware kit (provided with the sensor) provides for tabletop mounting using the table stand, or wall mounting using the wall bracket. To use the stand, simply
screw the stand into the bottom of the sensor. You can also mount the sensor more securely using the screws in the hardware kit. Using the drilling template
(located on the back of the Quick Start Guide), drill two small holes. Affix the screws to the wall bracket and mount the sensor by snapping it into the bracket. The
sensor can then be rotated for desired positing.
Battery Operation
The Motion Sensor is battery-operated. Two alkaline AA batteries power the sensor. The battery compartment is located on the bottom of the sensor. To open the
battery compartment, twist the sensor by holding the top and bottom portions of the sensor and rotating in opposite directions. Place the batteries in the direction
indicated inside the battery compartment. Make sure that the batteries are inserted with the proper polarity.
The Motion Sensor has built-in power-saver technology to prolong the battery life. Battery lifetime will depend on actual use and how often the sensor is
triggered. A fresh set of batteries is expected to last up to 12 months. You can check the sensor's battery state by looking at the device list on the device overview
page of the homesight software.
Discovery
The discovery button is accessible from the back side of the battery compartment located on the inside of the sensor. Start discovery mode and press this button
once to register the device with your system. The discovery page will indicate that the device was added successfully.
Motion Sensor Properties
The motion sensor properties (Config) panel gives you control over sensor settings such as:
• sensor name
• quiet period before re-arming
• power saving behavior
To display the motion sensor properties panel, click on the Config icon (located at the right of each sensor entry in the Device Overview device list).
You can use the motion sensor properties panel to change one or more settings for a specific sensor, or revert to default settings. Changed sensor settings will
take effect after you click the SET button. To close the motion sensor properties panel without making changes, click on the CANCEL button. To return all settings
to default values, click on the DEFAULT button.
