Examine for repair:
To avoid unnecessary dismantling and / or double work, examine the system before beginning repairs.
Visual checks:
- Fastenings, fuses, cable connections, switches.
- Hoses for abrasion, kinking, squeezing, hose connections.
- Air ducts and mesh screens.
- Compressor hose connections, mounting points, drive belt tension, magnetic clutch, electrical connection.
Fault finding and repair:
Some faults can only be diagnosed and repaired by qualified personnel in air conditioning systems e.g., faults with the compres-
sor and filter.
Electrical faults:
- Air ducts and mesh screens.
- Compressor hose connections, mounting points, drive belt tension, magnetic clutch, electrical connection.
Mechanical faults:
- Check the operation of the fins.
- Check the dirty or blocked evaporator or condenser fins and for restricted air intake screen.
- Check loss of refrigerant.
- Check compressor.

Maintenance Work
Examine for abrasion and condition
Carry out leak test with leak detector
Examine refrigerant quantity in the sight glass
Examine cleanliness of fins
Change every 2 years
Ensure that they are clear
Examine all parts for tightness
Examine starting of compressor
Examine for noise - run free and listen
Examine for condition and tension
Bolt tightness
Examine condition
Examine condition and firmness of connection
Check all bolted connections for tightness
