Aligning and configuring

The prerequisite for operating the SIMATIC Ident CB Gate is that the antennas are optimally
aligned to the objects or transponders to be read, field disturbances are eliminated and the
radiated power of the antennas is adapted to the ambient conditions.
Note
Installation, connection and commissioning by Siemens Service
Installation, connection and commissioning of the SIMATIC Ident CB Gate can be performed
by the Siemens Service team.
Note that the CB Gate has two or four antennas depending on the system variant.
7.1

Aligning antennas

You can only achieve optimum alignment of the antennas of the SIMATIC Ident CB Gate via
the connected PC or a PG and using the WBM (Web Based Management) of the reader. This
procedure is described below.
Required tools
The following tools are required:
• Inbus (5)
• Torx screwdriver (T30)
Requirements
• The individual components of the CB Gate are connected.
• A PC or programming device (PG) is connected.
• The CB Gate has started up but is disabled ("Home > Controls > Enable Gate > Off").
• The WBM of the reader was started.
Note: For the configuration via the WBM, a PC or PG must be connected, the connection
established and the access enabled. You can find information on this in the section
"Network integration (Page 29)".
• The conveyor system stands still and an object with a transponder is in the antenna field
of the read points, as shown in the graphic.
