Robot stopping functions
The robot has an emergency stop function and at least one protective stop function.
These functions have provision for the connection of external emergency stops
and protective devices.
The emergency stop function is a complementary protective measure and shall
not be applied as a substitute for safeguarding measures or safety functions.
The stop categories can be re-configured as defined by standards EN ISO
10218-1:2011 and IEC 60204-1:2016.
Emergency stop and protective stop functions are activated through dedicated
safety inputs or safety protocols.
For example, an output from a safety rated presence sensing device output can
be connected to a safety input on the robot controller. This is to initiate a protective
stop of the robot.

Questions and answers
how to disable th protective stop. i want to run in auto mode
To run in automatic mode on the ABB OmniCore C90XT, the FlexPendant must be connected. A disconnected FlexPendant cannot initiate protective stops, but it also cannot be used to control the system. There is no direct method mentioned to "disable" a protective stop. However, to avoid unintended protective stops:
1. Ensure the FlexPendant is properly connected with a clean, undamaged connector.
2. Confirm the emergency stop button is not pressed when connecting.
3. Never detach the FlexPendant after the 30-second countdown during detachment; doing so causes a guard stop.
Proper system configuration and safety measures must be followed as described in the product manual. NO direct disabling method for protective stop is provided.
