Disassembling the top enclosure
1. Undo the fixing screws on the motor enclosure and remove any fastening components. The

2. Lift off the top enclosure and place it down carefully at a suitable place.
3. Carry out the necessary operations on the motor.
NOTICE
Objects in the stator housing
Prevent any objects from falling into the open stator housing when the top enclosure has
been removed. Otherwise the machine could be damaged.

Mounting the top enclosure

Refit the top enclosure and the air intake cowl with the motor in the horizontal position.
1. Check that the sealing elements are serviceable and correctly positioned. If they are not,
2. Place the top enclosure on the machine and position it correctly.
3. Apply a thread-locking fluid to the fastening screws, e.g. Loctite 243.

fastening components can differ:
– Hexagonal bolts with spring washers at four locations.
– Screw connections with tube spacer and disk springs: Remove the tube spacers with
the disk springs. Make sure that the original arrangement of the disk springs is retained:
the disk springs must be refitted again in their original position and sequence.
– Permanently coupled with spacer bushing.

For machines with shaft heights 450 ... 560 mm and 710 ... 800 mm, ensure that there is
no metallic connection between the top enclosure and the machine housing. The
circumferential slot should be as even as possible.
