Installing a Certificate and Private Key

This section describes the procedure for installing a certificate and private key
using the Remote UI. A certificate and private key are required when 802.1X/
EAP+WEP or WPA/WPA2+802.1X/EAP is selected as the encryption and
authentication method in "Selecting the Encryption and Authentication Method,"
on p. 2-10.
The files required differ according to the EAP type used. Refer to the procedures
below for details.
IMPORTANT
Make sure to perform the following procedure before installing a certificate and private
key.
- Set [Primary Network Setting] to 'Standard Network'.
Press
Card Settings] ➞ [Primary Network Setting] ➞ select [Standard Network]. (The settings
are enabled after the machine is restarted.)
- Connect the machine to your computer using a LAN cable.

Installing a Root CA Certificate
If you selected 802.1X/EAP+WEP or WPA/WPA2+802.1X/EAP as the encryption
and authentication method in "Selecting the Encryption and Authentication
Method," on p. 2-10, follow the procedure below to install a root CA certificate.
A root CA certificate is issued by a trusted root certificate authority that can prove
the authenticity of the server certificate (and certificate path) of the RADIUS server
that will authenticate the Wireless LAN Board.
IMPORTANT
The following type of certificate can be used:
- X.509 certificate versions 1 to 3
- File size 8 KB or less
- DER (Distinguished Encoding Rules) format (binary format) or PEM (Privacy Enhanced
Mail) format (format with DER format data encoded in Base64)
- Not expired
(Settings/Registration) ➞ [Preferences] ➞ [External Interface] ➞ [Extension
