Checking the Wireless LAN Interface

Before starting to use the Wireless LAN Board, follow the procedure below to check

whether the LAN adapter of your computer is operating normally.
NOTE
If you are using your LAN adapter for the first time, attach the LAN adapter and install its
driver and software before performing this procedure, as necessary. For information on
attaching and installing the LAN adapter, see the instruction manuals that come with the
LAN adapter.
This procedure describes the procedure for a Windows environment.

Checking the Wireless LAN Interface
If you are using Windows XP, select [Control Panel] from the
[Start] menu ➞ click [Performance and Maintenance] ➞
[System].
If you are using Windows 2000, select [Control Panel] from the [Start] menu ➞
double-click the [System] icon.
If you are using Windows Server 2003, select [Control Panel] from the [Start]
menu ➞ [System].
If you are using Windows Vista/Server 2008, select [Control Panel] from the
[Start] menu.
NOTE
If you are using Windows Vista/Server 2008, click [Continue] if the [User Account
Control] dialog box is displayed.
Click [Hardware] ➞ click [Device Manager] ➞ double-click
[Network adapters].
If you are using Windows Vista, click [Hardware and Sound] ➞ [View hardware
and devices] ➞ double-click [Network adapters].
If you are using Windows Server 2008, double-click [Device Manager] ➞
[Network adapters].
NOTE
If an "X" or "!" is displayed for the LAN adapter icon, the LAN adapter is not
operating normally. In this case, refer to the instruction manuals included with the
LAN adapter to make it operate normally.
