Setting the Primary Network to Wireless LAN

This section describes the procedure for setting a primary network using the control
1
panel of the machine.
When the Wireless LAN Board is attached to the machine, it combines with the
standard network interface equipped with the machine (standard network), to give
the machine two network interfaces. As you cannot enable both interfaces at the
same time, set which interface to use.
Since the standard network is enabled by default, it is necessary to set the primary
network to 'Wireless LAN' to use the Wireless LAN Board.
IMPORTANT
Make sure to consult your system administrator or network administrator when setting
the primary network.
For security reasons, it is recommended you see e-Manual > Security to change the
defaults of System Manager Department ID and System Manager PIN before specifying
the wireless LAN settings.
The Wireless LAN Board cannot be used in conjunction with the Voice Guidance Kit.
NOTE
If the machine enters the Sleep mode with the Wireless LAN Board attached, even if
[Low] is set for the energy consumption of the machine in Sleep mode, the energy
consumption will be the same as if [High] is set. The time it takes for the machine to shut
down after pressing the control panel power switch is also longer than when [Standard
Network] is selected.
