Drives are reported as „dead" at system boot
This error message can occur, when the server has a RAID controller.
Configuration of the RAID controllers is wrong.
Ê Check and correct with the utility for the RAID controller the settings for
the drives.
Further information can be found in the operating manual concerning the RAID
controller.
Added drive is reported as defective
This error message can occur, when the server has a RAID controller.
RAID controller not configured for the drive
The drive was probably installed when the system was switched off.
Ê Configure the RAID controller for the drive using the appropriate utility.

controller; for HostRAID functionality of the onboard SCSI controllers see
the manual „Adaptec HostRAID User's Guide" (on the ServerBooks CD
under the selection „Controller".

Ê Reinstall the drive while the system is switched on.
If the hard disk drive continues to be shown as faulty, please replace it.
