Using
the
closed
caption
decoder
Many broadcasters
now supply closed captioning
information
along
with their regular
broadcasts.
Your Projection
TV can decode that
information
and display
it on your TV so, t een.
There
are two types of captioning
tlhat broadcasters
can send:
"standard"
and "text." Standard
captioning
is relal_ed to the pro-
gram that
is being shown. Standard
captioning
usually
follows the
dialogue
of the characters
on-screen.
Text captioning
does not usually
relate to the prod,Tam being
shown. It often contains
information
such as weatlher or news. Text
captioning
often block,'; out your view of the program
you are
watching.
Your Projection
TV can decode four different
"standard
captioning"
signals
and four different
"text captioning"
signals
on each TV
channel.
However,
each station
may be broadcasting
only one or
two captioning
signals,
or none at all.
To use the closed caption
decoder:
Press the VIDEO
button on the
remote
control or on the control
panel until the closed
captioning
( [7_
) display
appears
on the screen.
Press up/down
buttons
or right!
left buttons
on the remote
control
or ADJUST
buttons
on
the control panel
to select the
captioning
signal you wish to
display:

1/[_
2/
_C--] 3/[_J4/C_
Text 1/
_C_ Text 2/[_,_Text
3/
Text 4/[cc-]V_hen
muting/Off.
You can choose to display one of
four "st;andard
captioning"
signals
(indicated
by the symbol
[]_
and
a aumber),
to display
one of four
"text captioning"
siga_als (indicated
by t:he word "Text" and a number),
to dilsplay captions
when muting,
or to turn the captions
off.
If you select "When muting,"
the standard
captioning
signal
[_
1
will appear
whenever
you use the ]VIUTE button.
