When shooting people, the face detection feature detects the faces of up to ten
individuals and adjusts focus and brightness accordingly.
1.
In the REC mode, press [,]
or [_.] to turn off the Make-up
Mode.
• The Face Detection icon []
will be displayed on the monitor screen while the
Make-up Mode is turned off.
• If pressing [,]
or [1_] does not turn off the Make-up Mode, it means that the
Make-up Mode setting is not assigned to the [,]
and [1_] keys. Assign the
setting to the keys (page 78) and perform the above step again.
2.
Press [SET], and then use [A] and [V] to select the sixth Control
Panel
option from
the top (Face Detection).
3.
Use [,]
and [P.] to select "_
Face Detection:
On" and then press
[SET].
4.
Point the camera
at the subject(s).
The camera will detect human faces and display a
frame around each one.

Half-press
the shutter
button.
The camera will focus and the frames around the
faces it focuses on will turn green.
Press the shutter button the rest of the way
down.
