8. OPERATION CHECK

8-1. Preparation

1. E-125 (Prepare two units to perform IrDA communication check.)
2. Compact Flash Memory Card
3. Rechargeable battery pack CGP-E/104A (Refer to PARTS LIST.)
4. AC adapter (AD-C59200U), or both AC adapter (AD-C59200G) and AC power cord
(CBL-K799-AC-EU etc.) (Refer to PARTS LIST.)
5. Cradle (Refer to PARTS LIST.)
6. PC installed ActiveSync 3.1
7. Diagnostic program files for E-125 : diag.exe and diagboot.exe
(This file name "diag.exe" is the same as ones for E-100/ E-105/ E-115/ EM-500 etc. Take care not
to confuse.)
9. Ordinary stereo earphone (16Ω)
10. Two DC Power Supply Stabilizers
NOTES:
* Be sure to make back-up copies of all data in the unit before repair using BACKUP/ RESTORE
function in ActiveSync 3.1 software because FULL RESET must be performed to finish or abort this
operation check.
Diagnostic program file will be saved in D-RAM assembled onto the main PC board.
Therefore, performing FULL RESET after this check, this program should be deleted.
These program files (diag.exe/ diagboot.exe/ CASIO_JXdiag.exe) will be supplied along with the
Service Manual for E-125.
* The unit may be locked during the installation, this check or the other operation.
If this lock occur, try to perform RESET operation.

8-2. How to install the diagnostic program

There are two ways to install the diagnostic program.
8-2-1. Installation in CF Card
Using CF card installed the diagnostic program, OPERATION CHECK can be performed without PC and
the cradle after installation.
To make this CF card installed the diagnostic program, at first, it is necessary to install the diagnostic
program to CF card according to the following
procedure.
1. Insert a CF card into Card slot of the unit.
Before inserting CF card, be sure to slide CARD
LOCK switch to FREE position.
2. Connect a cradle and PC installed ActiveSync
3.1.
3. Set the unit to this cradle. And then, open
ActiveSync 3.1.
4. Selecting File, then Connection Settings..., the
dialog box shown to the right appears.
It is recommended that you enter "V" marks in
the four squires in the right dialog box to be able
to use USB, RS-232C COM port etc on PC.
5. After doing so, perform "Get Connected..."
procedure. "Get Connected..." procedure may
automatically start.
6. You had better choose "No" for Set Up a
Partnership.
