Procedure 1
The purpose of this procedure is to determine if the HDD is properly configured and if it is
spinning at a constant speed. To perform this procedure, begin with Check 1 and continue as
instructed.
Check 1 (A) Remove any diskette from the FDD. (B) Reboot the system.
If the message, Hard Disk 0 installed WDC AC21600H appears on the
screen, perform Check 2. If this message does not appear, perform the following
HDD setup procedure, then perform Check 2.
To properly configure HDD settings, perform the following instructions:
During reboot, access setup by pressing the F1 key when prompted.
Select PRIMARY IDE MASTER WDC AC21600H .
Press the Enter key and verify that the device configuration is selected as
Auto Configured .
Save settings (if you made a change) and exit.
