(A) Access the system setup by pressing the F1 key. (B) Set the configuration
parameters to default. (C) Test to determine if the original problem still exists.
NOTE: If this error occurs again after cycling power, perform the System Board
Troubleshooting Process.
If the original problem still exists, perform Check 8. If the original problem no
longer exists, perform the Repair Completion Process.

Determine if an HDD error is displayed.
If an HDD error is displayed, perform the HDD Troubleshooting Process. If an
HDD error is not displayed, perform Check 9.
Check 9
Determine if an FDD error is displayed.
If an FDD error is displayed, perform the FDD Troubleshooting Process. If an
FDD error is not displayed, perform Check 10
Check 10
Determine if a CD-ROM drive error is displayed.
If a CD-ROM drive error is displayed, perform the CD-ROM Troubleshooting
Process. If a CD-ROM drive error is not displayed, perform the System Board
Troubleshooting Process.
Procedure 4
The purpose of this procedure is to determine if the problem is associated with the FDD or the
system configuration. To perform this procedure, begin with Check 1 and continue as
instructed.
Check 1
(A) Access the system setup by pressing the F1 key. (B) Verify that the
configuration parameters are set to default.
If the system configuration parameters are set to default, perform Check 3. If the
system configuration parameters are not set to default, perform Check 2.
Check 2
(A) Set the system configuration parameters to default. (B) Test to determine if
the problem still exists.
If the problem still exists, perform Check 3. If the problem no longer exists,
perform the Repair Completion Process.
Check 3
Determine if the system recognizes the FDD in setup.
If the system recognizes the FDD in setup, perform Check 4. If the system does
not recognize the FDD in setup, perform the FDD Troubleshooting Process.
Check 4
(A) Insert a known good MS-DOS bootable diskette into the FDD. (B) Reboot
the system.
If DOS successfully loads from the FDD, perform Procedure 5. If DOS does not
successfully load from the FDD, perform the FDD Troubleshooting Process.
