MAINTENANCE

WARNING:
Always use a P2-respirator during
performing maintenance.
CAUTION:
Always be sure that the appliance
is s itched o and the battery cartridges are
removed before attempting to perform inspection
or maintenance.
CAUTION:
A technical inspection, including
inspection of lters, air tightness, and control
mechanism, must be performed at least once a
year by an instructed person.
CAUTION:
During maintenance, all con-
taminated items which cannot be satisfactorily
cleaned must be disposed. Such items must be
disposed of in impervious bags which accord
with your country ' s regulations.
CAUTION:
After the operation in the hazard-
ous area, the outside of the tool must be decon-
taminated by vacuum cleaning methods and
wiped clean or treated with sealant before you
take the tool out of a hazardous area. All the parts
of the tool must be regarded as contaminated
when removed from the hazardous area, and
appropriate action must be taken to prevent dust
dispersal.
CAUTION:
Change lters hen lters are
clogged with dust or you feel that the cleaner ' s
performance declined.
CAUTION:
Check the lters periodi-
cally. If there is a tear on lters, replace them
immediately.
NOTICE:
Never use gasoline, benzine, thinner,
alcohol or the like. Discoloration, deformation or
cracks may result.

Removing the lter unit
CAUTION:
W ait for about 5 minutes so that
dust in the tank completely settles down.
CAUTION:
Be careful not to let the dust enter
inside the tank cover hen removing the lter
unit.
The filter unit is attached on the head unit. It consists of
top plate, prefilters, dampers and powder filters.

Remove the filter unit from the head unit as shown
in the figure.

Removing po der lter and pre lter
Picking up the knob and remove filters from the top
p l a t e .

To prevent dusts from floating in the air, removing filters
i n t h e p o l y e t h y l e n e b a g i s p r e f e r a b l e .
When carrying the filter unit in order to clean out, tie a
polyethylene bag firmly.

Cleaning of po der lter, pre lter
and damper
Clean out the filters and damper from time to time.
Clogged filters and damper may result in poor suction
p e r f o r m a n c e .
Regularly clean out the accumulated dust of filters and
d a m p e r .
Occasionally wash the powder filter, prefilter and
d a m p e r i n w a t e r , r i n s e a n d d r y t h o r o u g h l y i n t h e s h a d e
b e f o r e u s e . N e v e r w a s h t h e m

NOTE: Do not rub or scratch the powder filter, the
prefilter and the damper with hard objects such as a
b r u s h a n d a p a d d l e .
NOTE: The filters wear out in course of time. It is
r e c o m m e n d e d t o h a v e s o m e s p a r e s f o r t h e m .
Installing po der lter and pre lter
NOTICE:
The po der lter and pre lter can pick
up both dry dusts and wet dusts. Make sure that
the water level sensors activate properly to pre-
vent the po der lter breakage.
Hook the edges of the filter unit to the top plate, and
t h e n l o w e r t h e k n o b .

NOTICE:
Before using the po der lter, make
sure that pre lter and damper are used together. It
is not allowed to install powder filter alone.
Assembling the lters
When you get the filters separately, assemble them as
shown in the figure.

Installing the lter unit
After installing the filters to the top plate, hook the holes
of the filter unit to the U-shaped parts of the inner cover.
Then, lock the latch as shown in the figure.
