Charging While in Use

ScanPal EDA50 Enterprise Hybrid Device User Guide
Fully charge the battery before use. The battery is only partly charged when
initially shipped.
Refer to the chapter "charging" to get the right process for battery charging.
Using the battery for other devices may cause damages on the device or
the battery.
Avoid dropping the battery or the terminal. If you suspect that a battery or
terminal fails, send it to Honeywell service center for verification.
This battery should only be replaced by another Honeywell BAT-EDA50
battery. These batteries have been tested and meet the appropriate safety
standards.
Before recycling the battery, cover the contacts with insulation tape.
Do not modify the battery or attempt to insert foreign objects into the
battery.
Do not solder directly to the battery poles.
Do not short connect the battery and put the battery away from metal
objects.
Do not drop or mechanically shock or extrude the battery.
Do not disassemble or open the battery. Do not crush, bend or deform the
battery; Do not puncture, shred or burn the battery.
Do not immerse the battery in water.
Avoid extreme temperature conditions as found on the dash of a car in the
sun or near a heat source such as a stove or open flame. After extreme
low or high temperature exposure, allow the terminal and battery to come to
room temperature before charging
Avoid charging the terminal continuously while in use to maximize battery cycle
life. Battery health is maximized when the terminal is turned off or in the
Suspend state during charging.
Suspend (or "sleep") is an ultra-low-power state where the main processor and
display are powered off to minimize power consumption. Under factory settings,
the terminal automatically enters the Suspend state after a brief period of non-
use. However, certain software applications or configuration settings can keep
the terminal awake.
If the terminal does not Suspend within the expected time limit, do not leave the
terminal in the charger. Check application settings. Update to the latest system
software.
