Scanning method

2.10.2
(1) Standard scanning
One symbol is read and the data is output. This scan method is the one normally used.
(2) Multistage scanning
This function decodes continuously while the trigger key is held down. Symbols that have been
decoded once are never scanned again. If multiple symbols are printed on one form, this function is an
effective way to scan all symbols without repeating the trigger operation.
(3) Batch scanning
This function outputs the results of multiple scanned symbols in one batch. In the same way as for the
multistage scanning function, symbols that have been decoded once are never scanned again. This
function is an effective way to handle multiple symbol data, such as publication JAN codes and
product tags, in batches.
However, the influence of problems such as the following can mean that not all symbols are covered
by a single scan.
– The symbol to be scanned was not in the captured image
– The image is out of focus
– The image is poorly exposed

usage method
* The design theoretically allows up to ten symbols of 4,095 digits each to be scanned, but scanning
batches of symbols with high numbers of lines is not recommended. Multistage scanning should be
used if there are 4 or more symbols, and the total number of digits exceeds 100.
Multistage scanning
10
4,095 digits
40,950 (4,095×10)
The specified number of symbols is
scanned while the trigger key is held
down. In contrast to batch scanning,
this methods successively scans
individual symbols, rather than reading
multiple symbol in one scan.
When scanning of one symbol is
finished, the buzzer sounds and the
LED lights.
This is suitable for scanning in the
following cases.
– When there are many symbol lines
– When the symbols to scan are
spaced apart
– To scan with assured reliability
Batch scanning

4,095 digits(*)
4,095 digits
Multiple symbols are read in one scan.
The buzzer does not sound and the
LED does not light until all of the
specified number of symbols have
been scanned.
This is suitable for scanning in the
following cases.
– When barcodes with few digits are
adjacent (such as scanning
publication JAN codes).
