INSTALLATION

When Installing this Product...
1. Read these instructions carefully. Failure to follow them
could damage the product or cause a hazardous
condition.
2. Check the ratings given in the instructions and marked
on the product to make sure the product is suitable for
your application.
3. Installer must be a trained, experienced, flame
safeguard service technician.
4. After installation is complete, check out the product
operation as provided in these instructions.
5. Disconnect the power supply before beginning
installation to prevent electrical shock and equipment
damage. More than one power supply disconnect may
be involved.
6. Be sure wiring complies with all applicable codes,
ordinances and regulations.
7. See Fig. 5 for S7800B unique wiring connections.
IMPORTANT
1.
This equipment generates, uses and can radiate
radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used
in accordance with the instructions, may cause
interference to radio communications. It has been
tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class
B computing device of Part 15 of FCC rules which
are designed to provide reasonable protection
against such interference when operated in a
commercial environment. Operation of this
equipment in a residential area may cause
interference; in which case, users at their own
expense may be required to take whatever
measures are required to correct this interference.

This digital apparatus does not exceed the Class B
limits for radio noise for digital apparatus set out in
the Radio Interference Regulations of the Canadian
Department of Communications.
Humidity
Install the S7800B where the relative humidity never reaches
the saturation point. The S7800B is designed to operate in a
maximum 85% RH continuous, noncondensing, moisture
environment. Condensing moisture can cause improper
Display Module operation.
Vibration
Do not install the S7800B where it can be subjected to
vibration in excess of 0.5G continuous maximum vibration.
Weather
The S7800B is not designed to be weather tight. If installed
outdoors, the S7800B must be protected by an approved
weather-tight enclosure.
Mounting
The S7800B can be surface-mounted with the included base
or recess-mounted, with the base removed, in a hole cut in a
wall or panel door.
7800 SERIES S7800B DISPLAY MODULE
Preparation
1. Remove the S7800B from its package. Set aside any
mounting materials (screws, plastic screw anchors,
etc.) until later in the mounting procedure.
2. Use a flat-bladed screwdriver to remove the trim ring
from the S7800B (see Fig. 2). Set aside the cover until
the S7800B is mounted.

Surface Mounting on Wall or Panel (Fig. 3)
1. Make sure that the location chosen is clear of
obstructions behind the wall or panel.
2. Use the surface mounting box as a template and mark
the locations for the four mounting screws and wire
hole.
3. Use a 3/16 in. (5 mm) drill bit to drill the four starter
holes for the plastic screw anchors (wall mounting) or
for holes in the wall or panel (recess mounting).
4. Cut or drill the wire hole.
5. Install the four plastic screw anchors in the starter
holes.
6. Mount the surface mounting box on the wall or panel
using the screws provided.
7. Run the wiring through the wire hole.
8. Connect the wires to the S7800B. See Fig. 4.
9. Mount the S7800B onto the surface mounting box.
10. Replace the trim ring, noting the UP reference on the
rear surface of the trim ring.
11. Restore power to the system.
