Faults Reported to the RX3i Controller Fault Table
The following PROFINET Controller-related faults are reported in the Controller Fault Table of the
RX3i CPU, in addition to being listed in the PNC's Local Log Table.

Cause
A module configured for a
PROFINET device does not
exactly match what is
physically present on the
device, but the device
indicates it is a valid
substitution.
A module configured for a
PROFINET device does not
match the module that is
physically present on the
device.
A module has been hot-
inserted in to a PROFINET
device, and the physical
module does not match the
configured module.
SFP configured for a port on
the PNC does not match
what is physically present on
the PNC.
The PNC has encountered a
hardware related failure.
Recommended
Correction
The module should operate properly in
the presence of this fault. However, to
eliminate the fault, try one or more of the
following:
Make sure the module is plugged in
the correct location and move if
necessary.
Update the configuration stored to
the PNC to exactly matches the
module present
Replace the module on the device
to match the configuration.
The module will not operate properly,
therefore try one or more of the
following:
Make sure the module is plugged in
the correct location and move if
necessary.
Update the configuration stored to
the PNC to equal the actual module
present
Replace the module on the device
to match configuration.
Either update the configuration stored to
the PNC to equal the actual module
present, or replace the module on the
device to match configuration.
The SFP present should operate
properly in the presence of this fault.
However, to eliminate the fault, either
update configuration to match the actual
SFP type in use, or replace the SFP in
use with the same type of SFP
configured.
